Ten years after the Battle of the Breach, previous Jaeger pilot Jake Pentecost – child of perished Kaiju War legend Stacker Pentecost – brings home the bacon by taking and offering Jaeger parts on the underground market in the Los Angeles territory. After he tracks some portion of an impaired Jaeger's energy center to the mystery workshop of fifteen years of age Jaeger fan Amara Namani, both are captured by the Pan-Pacific Defense Corps after a squabble between Amara's little, single-pilot Jaeger Scrapper and the Jaeger November Ajax. Jake's receptive sister and PPDC Secretary General Mako Mori gives Jake a decision between the jail or come back to PPDC as a teacher with Amara as his enlist.
