Bright

Bright is a pretty good movie, not amazing. This movie has decided most critics with an 28% and the audiences with and 88% on Rotten Tomatoes (@rottentomatoes). To me, Bright is just an average movie. I really like the premise of it, with a society that has things from fantasy. For those who don’t know, it’s primarily about a police officer (Will Smith) and the first ork police officer who are partners, played by Joel Edgerton. The ork is not wanted by the police, nor other orks because he became an officer. Like I said, I like the premise, but I feel like it is an allegory about society today and how certain people are mistreated, in which I do not agree with, but I will not get political. There are some good action sequences in this movie, and the special affects are decent. Joel Edgerton does a great job as Nick Jakoby, the ork. Will Smith has a good character ark, but he is really unlikeable at times, which I feel like he shouldn’t. I feel like the main antagonists could have been fleshed-out a little more, but they did have some awesome fights scenes. The makeup for the orks and elves is really good, and there are some pretty funny jokes. Sometimes I struggled to follow the magic and dark lord aspects of the story, and I believe other people might not too. But, in the end, I did understood everything. Overall, I think Bright is a good movie and give it a 6.5/10.
