Review of the movie: The Equalizer 2
Robert McCall is back. Lessons must be learned. Make a choice. Do the right thing. For otherwise. There are accounts to be settled.
I liked the raw and brutal violence in the first. It repeats Denzel Washington with the very special abilities he has in common with Liam Neeson, Keanu Reeves and all the other one action men who bitch the many bad boys.
Denzel's equalizer is among the more violent and violently inventive of the many action men on the market.
Here's just a nudge shot of an innocent woman from the bad guys to Robert who picks a harp through the eye of one and blows her belly completely open to another. It's nice raw.
But it is also an annoying weakness at the same time. Just like in the first movie where the Russian mafia in New York was to be eradicated.
Robert still preaches to do the right thing. Except when it is himself. So brutal equalization word is all right.
Maybe he should have just made a Batman and beat them out? Then his moral compass might also point in one direction.
It is again a young man to be saved from the underworld. Just like the forced prostitute Alina, pushed in the direction of music - away from the stupid Russians.
This time, it's the artist Miles, to be kept away from the band environment and following the creative path. He would like to be a gangster and revenge his brother's death.
"Come on killer!" Says Robert. Miles must learn that it's wrong to kill. Unless you are the equalizer. Then it's okay.
In the first film, there was boring establishment of Robert, the friends in the construction market and the relationship with Alina. Without action. Just talk about becoming the one you want to be and "The old man and the sea". Gab.
Now it's not boring. Robert is already a smuggler.
It is settled in the beginning, where Robert brings a little girl home to her mother from a train in Turkey. There is a knock on. 1-0 to "The Equalizer 2".
Unfortunately, it has to be repeated several times that Robert defends the little one.
Robert carries a rape victim home. Then, of course, he returns and punishes the rich man who put something in her drink.
I know his justice sense. I learned that in the first part with the imprints of the corrupt servants. It should not be cut into cardboard again. Therefore rape rape is indifferent. 1-1.
Then there is the motivation in the accounts. The first time Robert took up the fight against the entire Russian mafia. Because of one girl. It seemed overcrowded.
Now he is taking battle against professional campers who kill one close to Robert. Now it's personal. And a better motivation. 2-1.
And of course, there is of course the inevitable final showdown with villains and handlers. The Russian mafia was murdered in Silvan with wire, glass and drilling machines. Creative and mega fat.
Now they are only murdered with knives, bombs and machine guns. Practice. 2-2.
That way, "The Equalizer 2" ends completely with its predecessor. Despite small wins and defeat. They share similarities and have their differences.
