RE: Rocky road up the north face of Tryfan
Terrifying stuff as I have become accustomed to. I'm getting vertigo just reading about it.
If you get cragfest on that big slab.. imagine me!
The Old Man of Coniston is about my limit.
It's just practice, and then you can turn that vertigo into a thrilling adrenaline rush! But yeah, best to keep away from exposed pointy slabs.
I don't think there's any cure for vertigo, I used to be fearless when I was a kid.. , climbed up the biggest trees and never fell once. I don't know what happened.
You probably just built up some good sense!
When I was a kid, I was always rushing to climb things and then I'd panic and say "Help! I can't get down!" I don't seem to have quite shaken that habit...
Seriously though, learning to climb and doing bouldering has really built up my confidence on the rocks. Vertigo is not a bad thing to have because it stops you doing daft things, but learning to climb properly and building up the right leg muscles makes you more secure.
