Some Images From Over The Weekend.
Feels good to get back in the swing of things after a long holiday weekend. Worst part about a long weekend is the tiredness and fatigue we feel getting back in the swing of things. I swear every muscle in my body aches right now!
I took full advantage of the long weekend, rode and worked on the new bike a lot, and when I wasn't riding I was drinking!
So I started my weekend early Friday afternoon. I needed to get close to 200 miles on my bike so I could do it's 500 mile valve adjustment. I woke up early Friday morning made a few trades, then headed out on some back roads towards the state of Pennsylvania. I figured 4th of July is right around the corner so why not kill two birds with one stone, get my break in miles and score some fireworks for the 4th.... 200 miles and around 6 hours later I returned home with a backpack full of fireworks.
It was after that ride that I picked up the 750ml of George Dickel a few blocks from arriving home. I was pretty sore after a 6 hour round trip ride, but it was worth it. The bike rode great getting past the break in period. It was just the ride the bike needed to smooth out that new motor.
Come Saturday I was still pretty sore, and it looked like rain. I took the Honda Shadow out for a ride and bought some tools I'd need for my valve adjustment, then stopped at the local bike shop and picked up some oil for an oil change. It felt weird riding the Shadow after riding around on the dirt bike all week.
Spent Sunday with the family, cooked on the grill, lit off some fireworks probably annoying the neighbors, and sipped whiskey and drank beer. After the family left I decided to pull all the vinyl graphics off the new bike. I've never been a huge fan of vinyl graphics and liked the way it looked when I finished. I was a little too drunk to drive so I pretty much just stared at it for a couple hours from the lawn chair in the garage while I knocked back a couple more beers and the bright sunny day turned to dusk.
When I woke early Monday, I did the valve adjustment. Forgot to get pix :( Then outfitted the bike with a new Saddleman tail bag. Now all I need to finish outfitting the bike are some saddlebags, a tank bag, and the luggage rack. I'd also like to get a Rotopax fuel and water kit, and a metal engine guard. I'll be ordering that stuff shortly.
After I set up the tail bag I found some stickers in the bottom of the box from #RevZilla and decided to add one to my fuel tank. That gave me the great idea of maybe trying to talk a couple cryptocurrencies into sponsoring my cross country ride if I decide to take this bike. My thinking is maybe rent out ad space on the bike for crypto related graphics. IDK, just an idea. Anyone interested, feel free to contact me....
I ended the weekend last night with a long ride along Tonawanda Creek, then just as I got to the Niagara River I rode alongside one of the most beautiful sunsets I had seen in awhile.
I was a little bummed out by this picture. I tried to get to this part of the river, sooner. Just a few minutes earlier and the entire sky was a brilliant pink. It was incredible. Unfortunately I got stuck at a light, and caught the very last moments of it before it set. I hate missing a good photo like that.
Thanks for reading! Hope you all had a great weekend. Cheers from Buffalo NY!
Great pictures, although I don't personally care for Dickel think it's because of a bad weekend experience tailgating
Old George has a way of doing that to folks :) Cheers!
All I'll say is George and pickle juice is a terrible mixture
LOL, I bet it is!
I want that bike :/
:)
what are your views about the market?
LOL, I really haven't been paying attention. I'm just considering now whether to open an exchange window or not. I haven't looked at anything since I think Friday morning before I went on my ride. Frankly I needed the break. Stay positive my friend, better days are coming :)
happy for you ;)
Keep riding ;)
Thanks man! Cheers :)
