UPBEAT: Monday Morning Motivation - 11/26/2018
Gidday,
Welcome to another BIG week as we rollick along toward year end.
How is it going for you?….according to plan or one day at a time in survival mode?
If you haven’t got a plan then you need to commit something to writing and stick to it!
If you don’t you will lurch from one crisis to another and end up with nothing achieved.
Also a good template to adopt and take forward into the New Year.
Yes perfect and ideal world stuff but worth a crack if you want to get stuff done and ticked off your list.
The Joneses are busy meeting celebrities as Santas arrival nears, read all about this and ‘thanksgiving’ this week.
Living the dream, is it possible?....read more in this weeks sales sizzle.
Have a good one, take care, give thanks, help out randomly and smile/laugh often.
Cheers
I was lucky enough to play footy in the same club and provincial team as Wayne ‘Buck’ Shelford.
So it was an absolute thrill to introduce him to Fletcher recently at the Armistice Day service.Fletcher
is obsessed with the All Blacks at the moment and couldn’t believe he had met an ex All Black
Captain!!(unbeaten as skipper btw). This is the stuff dreams are made and realised because of…
Fletcher reckons;he knows Santa and God (Buck?)are not watching all the time however if God can
keep delivering the scintillating foot work necessary for his latest try scoring at touch then Santa can
cover Christmas.Subject to him delivering outstanding behaviour at school and home of course.Hmm
Something funny…….about the focus on giving thanks in recent editions is the more you give the
more you seem to receive.Last week I was thanked out of the blue by a young man I used to coach
at secondary school 27 years ago!It blew me out of the water to realise the lasting effect my
unconditional gift of time had on him.The fact that he felt compelled to do this was priceless.
Funny too that I received his note on ‘Thanksgiving day’,maybe everyday is a good day for thanks.
I hope you have the ‘silly season’ under control…..have a great week ahead…Cheers Jonesey.
Kate and Lily reckon dining Al Fresco is the way to go,service please (see pic)….hmmm

difference.” Nelson Mandela
Are you living the dream at work?....is anyone really?
I am sure there are times where you ask yourself why you are doing what you are?
It is easy to get buried and blinkered in your thinking and your actions.
Things can quickly grind you down if you let them and then something happens!!
Like last week we put together a rescue mission for 7000 lifejackets off a cruise ship!
They were being replaced with new ones and still in good condition but had to be dumped.
That is until we arrived on the scene and through our contacts managed to save them.
Save them from the evil clutches of the landfill companies and never to be seen again.
We stitched together a deal with a ‘not for profit’ organisation benefitting the Cook Islands.
They will use the lifejackets to foster water education and training here and in the islands.
Wow, how good did that feel to divert such a big volume of stuff away from landfill for reuse.
Not only a reuse but one that has the potential to save lives and educate future generations.
That ladies and gentlemen is ‘living the dream’, making a difference for good.
In another example I asked Toastmasters impromtu speech contestants why they love Auckland?
The response was inspiring as all contestants were grateful to be Aucklanders for similar reasons.
Yes there were pros and cons but the pros always outweighed the cons which was a wake up call.
A wake up call for us Aucklanders listening who let some of the cons like traffic grind us down.
We were reminded in a timely manner about why this is a great City to live in and to be happy.
Happy that we were indeed the lucky ones by world standards and to get on and enjoy the privelege.
So time to look for the happiness and opportunity that where we live and work provides daily.
Live your dream and don’t let anyone or anything prevent you from doing that.
