SELF-CONTROL; is it still relevant in today's world

Lack of sef-control is what each one of us expriences and do see in our day to day activities.it can occur at any given time. Between husband and wife, conductor and passenger, among peers, in school, market place,workshop etc.

What is Self -control ?

Self control is the ability of one to master one's impulses and desires. It is also a godly quality.

What can result if we lack self-control?

Our inability to have and execise self -control will lead us to the following problems.

• procastination and having poor performance in school and work.
• verbal abuse, violence and drunkenness
• it can also lead to divorce, needless debt, and addiction
• unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease and emotional trauma can result from lack of self-control etc.

Self-control, is it still relevant today?

According to happenings in our environment and society, its still a relevant topic that needs to be taught in school, religious places etc to our kids and youths inorder to avert the dangers and problems mentioned above since lack of self-control is worsening everyday.

Why should we cultivate self-control?

There so many reasons why we need self-control but i will mention only two reasons

• if we have self-control, it will enable us control the impulses that generated this problem to fewer problems.
• it will also help us retain our creators favor when we resist temptation and control inappropriate impulses.
