As the nights get darker, colder and wetter, there are less people around and it seems like there is less to do, this is the perfect time to use this to your advantage and work on YOU!

Long Dark Evenings

Autumn is closing in, the leaves are falling off the trees, there is a chill in the air and it is now dark but just after 6.
When you go to the town there is no one around and there seems like nothing to do.
Excellent this gives you a great opportunity, TIME!

I dont know about you but I find it very hard to sit in working or going to the gym on a lovey warm sunny evening, also I am a very social person if there are people around I want to hang out.
But at this time of year every one goes into a kinda hibernation mode but I also have a crazy work ethic and watching tv or playing games is not something I do anymore.

Work On You!


To me this time of year gives me loads of extra time without usual distractions to work on and create goals, extra time in the gym and to workout, a drive and focus that I just don't have in the summer months.

Autumn and winter is a great time of year to focus on and work on you! Because you matter!

5 Ways to Raise the Bar This Autumn & Winter

1) Workout/exercise & Nutrition

When its dark cold and wet outside this is the perfect time to start an inside activity like going to the gym and as exercise and nutrition go hand in hand, this is a great time of year to start that fitness or body goal you have been putting off.

Get a plan or program or just pack the gym bag and get in the gym, just start imagine, just how much you can achieve in these two seasons if you start now!

2) Start a Hobby


The great thing about working out especially with weights is that you need rest days, if you are looking for something to do on your days from the gym, why not start a hobby!

I bet there is something you always wanted to do or maybe if you look around you can find something that interests you.
Have a look find something you want to do and without thinking just start it, who knows it could be something that changes your life for ever.

3) Learn


Some people believe that learning is an investment (in yourself) I am sure you have heard the expression that "knowledge is power".
Use this free downtime to start a course a learn a new skill.

There are loads of night courses going on around the place these are also great ways to meet new people with the same interests.

Also the internet gives us more opportunities than ever before, you can stay at home and study a whole degree if you like or just come on Steemit and learn a new skill

4)Read


Reading is exercise for the mind and there are a whole host of other benefits that come with it.
You can learn through reading or divulge into fantasy and let your imagination run wild.

5)Reflection


Use this spare downtime to stop, sit with yourself, be quiet and reflect.

Autumn and winter mark the ending of another year this is a great time for some self reflection.
Look back over the past year and reflect on the good and the bad.
What did you achieve this year? what could you of achieved but didn't? what do you want to achieve next year?

Start thinking ahead and plan your goals for next year!
