A Soldiers Pride - Life of Fauji
A Soldier's Perception!
Have you ever stood speechless in admiration?
Awestruck by beauty?
I used to stand in the back of the queue of my morning assembly at school and very often would I stare at our National Flag, flying high above the building.
Today as part of the Fauji (Soldier) Fraternity, I, Alpha and Omega, get to carry it and all I can say is, I'M IN LOVE WITH THE TRICOLOR, OUR NATIONAL FLAG.
The way it falls and rises and waves with the wind, brushing so smoothly on our faces as if it ask us to protect it with pride and when our time comes to die be not like those who weep for a little more life so they can live happily with there family,
BE LIKE THOSE WHO KILLS OR GETS MARTYRDOM AND GOES HOME LIKE A HERO SINGING THEIR DEATH SONG!
Next time when you do come across our tricolor, do know it is upheld by the blood and sweat of the men and women willing to protect it at all cost, be it their life and also the martyrs who proved it! This freedom and pride we achieved in 1947 hasn't come easy.
Whatever you can do from your part be it small or big, do it with pride and integrity because only then you'll know the taste of freedom and how bitter it was before turning into a independent country. Only then you'll know how the brave hearts of the country defends it.
