Handling Discouragement
Discouragement is one very strong factor we have to deal with daily, the great harm that discouragement has caused to human lives cannot be over emphasized.
The society has a way of making people give up on themselves, sometimes as individuals, we give up on our dreams and goals because we feel discouraged. But, discouragement is a killer and destroyer of dreams.
We get discouraged sometimes because despite our efforts,things do not turn out in a way we want it.Sometimes we get really discouraged when we realize that we are not as courageous as we thought we were.
Discouragement happens to every individual at every point in time,the most important thing is that we should not allow ourselves get so drawn in discouragement that we are not able to persist.
Whenever you feel that discouragement is almost taking a better part of you, this are things you should do that will make you gain strength and courage once again.
(1). Identify that it is discouragement that is about to set in.
(2). Be true with your self and be confident to identify that this is discouragement and you need to face it.
(3). Accept the fact that you are discouraged and do not begin to give excuses for the act.
(4). Find someone you feel safe with and talk it out with the person, as the saying goes that a problem shared is a problem half solved; share it with someone who will make you gain courage back.
(5). Find someone in need you could help: One great way to overcome discouragement, is to stretch an helping hand to someone who is in need.
(6). When you help someone help get out of a feeling of problem, you feel more happy from within, try all you can to get out of that feeling of discouragement and reach for your goal.
(7). Pay attention to your thoughts, make sure that they are positive thoughts.
(8). Think about how you have achieved past victories and how you can achieve more.
(9). Ensure to always learn new things.
(10). Take a look at bigger pictures.
