How to handle emotions?

Managing the emotions of others without controlling ours is totally contradictory. If we are not aware of what we feel, we will have difficulty managing our emotions and feelings, therefore, we are at the mercy of overflowing internal forces. And although this is not particularly challenging in the case of positive emotions, such as enthusiasm and pleasure, we believe that no person can afford to be overwhelmed or lose the ability to control negative emotions such as frustration, anger, anxiety or panic.

The responsibility for one's feelings is the manifestation of how each person decides to feel in front of a certain situation. That means that to a large extent we have the option to change and control our feelings. Self-management is like a continuous internal dialogue. It is an important component of emotional intelligence that frees us from the prison of feelings. In this sense, self-management makes possible mental quality and concentration of energy that requires keeping destructive emotions away from our path and, by this same route, reach self-leadership, which is fundamental to freeing us from everything that makes us bad, since it is the ability to control ourselves .

Reflection

It is said that the disciple of a venerable sage, was surprised that his teacher was always smiling and happy, despite the difficulties he had in life.

Intrigued, one day, he asked:
Master, how come you always look so happy and satisfied?
The teacher replied:
My friend, there is no secret in this.
Every morning when I wake up, I ask the same question to myself:
What do I choose today? Joy or sadness?
And I always choose joy.

And you, how do you choose to live your life?

We all have the option of choosing what our attitude towards life will be. Even in difficult situations that we can not change, we can always choose how we want to live.

It is not always easy and it is something that we often have to learn to do, however, it is always worth the effort we have to make to achieve it.
