THE LAW OF HONESTY AND INTEGRITY IN LEADERSHIP

Honesty is what determines a man's worth, yet a large number of people sell it. People with a high sense of integrity commands honor and dignity something that others will be scrambling to get. Honesty is being truthful and having a high moral standard. Now hear this story about honesty told by Kathryn Lay. She was on holiday in Texas and she was having lunch with her husband at a little restaurant and a lady walked in and handed her a dollar bill and said "I am sorry, but I short changed you earlier." Recognizing her as a sales assistant from a store she had been in earlier, Lay asked in amazement, 'how did you know I will be here?' The lady answered and said that she had gone from store to store looking for her.

Lay also tell the story of another man who returned a TV to the store and got his money back. Later, after realizing the amount had been credited to his visa he did nothing. She then asked, "Does God wants us to be just a little honest only in certain situation?" To this end, I agree with what Dostoyeusky who said, "When we lie, we lose respect for ourselves and for others. And when we have no respect for anyone, we end up yielding to our impulses, and indulging in the lowest form of pleasure"

A man named David Love was asked after winning a tournament how he would have felt if he had missed the master because of causing a penalty on himself and he replied that the real question should have been how he would feel if he had won and spent the rest of his life wondering if he cheated.

It is cheaper to maintain integrity than to rebuild it.

In everything, set an example by doing what is good, show integrity and soundness pf speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they will have nothing to say.
Men of integrity are men of dignity. Though, it may cost you to do the right thing in the right way, it will certainly cause you more harm when you ignore what ought to be done and do otherwise.
