BOUNCE RIGHT BACK!!!

LIFE IS NOT ALWAYS FAIR.

I joined this wonderful community about a week and some days now and I must say, I've had my fair share of in and outs. I had an unpleasant encounter with a bot that got me scared and frightened of commenting on posts. I mean I couldn't even reply to comments on my own posts, yeah it was that bad.

Things do not often go the way we expect them to. Challenges in life are unavoidable, she's not a respecter of persons, colour, wealth, race, class, attitude - whatever standard.

On the other hand this seemingly unkind lady, like I've chosen to describe her helps us reflect more on our current state in life and if we allow her, she can motivate us to make better decisions and choices and on the long run come up stronger and better.

My key questions:

What do you do when things are going sour? Do you just wait and hope they fix themselves?

Well if you've ever been in this kind of situation, especially as a minnow here, I'd be walking you through some steps that helped me.

  • Take Responsibility:

I'd say this is the most important step to take in getting your groove back on because the more you delay in doing this, the longer it takes for you to heal.

Man normally when faced with adversity of any kind always seeks to blame it on someone or something else other than himself (just like I maintained it was the bot that killed my initial vibes, lol).

Take responsibility even if you did not directly cause the problem as you're responsible for your reaction to the situation.

  • Talk about it:

The saying "a problem shared is a problem half solved" is quite true, though it would be dependent on the kind of company one keeps.

During the past few days that I was down and discouraged I casually mentioned the issue to my cousin @emekacollins and a very good friend @japfive and even my mom and they gave me awesome advise but I was still scared to write anything before the bot comes out at me again (it all seems so silly now, looking back ).

I noticed that talking about it, apart from the fact that the burden in my heart lessened and I got helpful advises, it also helped me develop my thoughts well and see solutions .

  • Grab a lesson from your fall:

A wise man once said, "it doesn't matter how many times you fall, what matters is what you pick up when rising". When I "fell", even though I felt (up till now) wrongly accused , I got to a point where I took responsibility for allowing criticism weigh me down instead of doing better. I then decided henceforth that I was going to be more careful with the comments I make ☺.

Dear friend, learn from what brought you down, build on it and rise with it, fighting (like the Koreans would say.)

  • Take an Action:

It's not enough to follow the above mentioned steps, you need to make a move. Make a conscious effort to face that fear. In my case, I took my paper and pen went to my siblings in the living room and started shouting "I'm bouncing back". (Guess that's where I coined my title from).

I know my thoughts flow better when I'm with a paper and a pen (call me old fashioned). So I started scribbling, with Get it Right by Diplo and Goldlink playing in my ears. I then developed my points on my notepad and came up with all of these.

It really does not matter where you're coming from or those that are judging you wrongly. Mistakes shows that you're out there doing something.

At the end of the day, what makes you a successful man or woman is what you picked up when you fell and how you used that in making yourself a better version of you, BOUNCE RIGHT BACK!!!
