Six Ways to Improve Your Reputation
Everyone deserves a second chance, and this can be achieved by changing people perspective towards you. The desire to improve your reputation arises when an individual undergoes a series of previous misfortune. It is never guaranteed that your new status can be any better from the previous one. Still, you need to try
Tips on how to improve your reputation
1) Make a good review on other people
It is essential to appreciate other people efforts on you by making them look good for different reasons other than not being an idiot. For instance, if someone referred you to a job vacancy as a potential employee, ensure that you leave an undisputed mark as a thank you to the connector. Arrive there in time, be ready and prepared and follow up appropriately on both ends. The more you rank your organiser, the higher your reputation becomes.
2) Adhere to your goals
No matter how simple it is, it can be very challenging when you think about it. However, it is your responsibility to give firm recommendations despite the results. Typically, when you send a mail to a banker to request your bank statement or your assistant to reschedule a specific meeting, there is need to follow up and hope they will fulfill their work or obligations.
You are supposed to give them the right recommendations to imply the idea of doing what you want others to do for you.
3) Dress for the occasion
The first impression can be underrated or disregarded, and that is a cost to your reputation. In many cases, people are ready to judge you by your looks before you even get a chance to speak. It is vital to be informed before the occasion so that you dress accordingly. Make sure you are not too casual, don’t be too dressy if you are not sure of the theme. It will be very disappointing to lose something you have been longing for only because you were not appealing. Set out perfect impression by dressing on clean outfits, unwrinkled, well-fitting and stylish. Wear appropriate makeup and a neatly groomed hair to impress the audience.
4) Be charismatic
Always be you rather than pretending to be someone else. Reach strangers with a warm heart, face full of smiles, offer handshakes and congratulate them on their endeavors. Remember the small unnoticed things you do will make you attractive to people as long as you avoid being fake in the name of being likable.
5) Employ integrity
Be honest with yourself and others either in the work environment or when you are with friends. It is imperative in the global business to enforce an act of kindness and integrity and avoid selfishness, jealousy, and greed. In circumstances where you the situation favors you to sell out your integrity, don’t expect to get one. In other words, don’t make promises that you can’t fulfill.
#6) Use appropriate body language
How you behave and carry yourself can describe a lot about you. When addressing an audience, make sure your body is facing them, your posture is appropriate and your feet while sitting is pointed towards them. Apply proper gestures such as nodding of the head to indicate understanding, lean towards a person, and smile here and there.
Wrapping up
From the above illustrations, people who demonstrate most of all these traits are considered as having a high reputation, therefore, hold a particular class of respect and admiration. Your reputation proceeds you in a good way hence you don’t have to sell yourself or brag to win people’s attention. A positive reputation does boost not only your confidence but also more opportunities.
