What Exactly Does Sucess Mean To You? Why Do You Act Like Someone Else When You Do Not Even Know The Motive Behind Their Actions
We like to describe our lives after the pattern of others, we like to do the things they do and act the way they act.
We often like to measure our achievements with the achievements of others, which is not something that is really healthy.
The question I want to ask you this morning, is that, what does success mean to you personally? do you have any personal definition of the things that you want to achieve and of the height you want to get to? or is everyone's success, a good one for you?
When I first got admitted into the university, the lecturer who advised us, said to us: everyone has different reasons for being in school, at the end of the day each of you will graduate with different grades.
Some of you are here just to get the degree because you know that you have a job waiting for you out there already, all that is required is the certificate, the grade does not even matter.
Another group of individuals are those who just want a second class upper, they are not struggling with a first class, they are contented with just having that second class upper degree.
Some individuals, however, feel that their strength just lies in having a second class lower, they do not want more than that, that is their goal and all that they want.
However, they are people who will not settle for anything less than a first class, they will read all their lives and sacrifice all that they have to their books just to make sure that they graduate with that first class.
Now, all these people described above have different definitions of success, they will act in different manners to achieve it and at the end of the day, if they all achieve it that will be a success to them, no matter what others feel about them.
But, my reason for writing this post, is for those who do not even have a plan or motive at all for their lives, who only define themselves by the definition that others give to them, they have no specific goal or laid down principles for their lives, all that they want is just to be like their neighbour.
One bad thing about your decision is the fact that, you have no idea about the reason why that person has that plan, all that you want is just to live your life like him or her.
The main purpose of all these things I have been trying to write is that, you need to have a definition for your life, do not just live like every other person, know what you want and be sure about it. Then go for it with all the power you have in you and make your success attainable.

One of the things i find hard to understand in the youth
Few of us could barely understand that its all man for itself. OYO (on your own).
Fingers ain't equal.
In my little experience, i think,
So everyone should have a dream.
Yea,that's the problem of some persons who find finds it difficult to accept who they truly are,always comparing themselves with other people forgetting that they have their own destiny,we should not try to be like other people ,but ourselves,true talk @gbenga,inspirational .
And also,we should understand that everyone has his own destiny and vision,learn to discovered your purpose and fulfill it,you can learn from others people success but you should know that what works for one person might not work for another.
People need to understand that we are all running a different race, the finish line for a 100 meter race is closer compared to a 200 meter race. We need to start moving at our own pace and not others. Moving at other’s pace is the major reason for the high level of crimes we have in our society today. People without personal goals will easily fall in line with other people’s ambition which at the long run doesn’t suit their destiny or career. Having a mind of your own, aiming for a goal and solely making life changing decisions is the genesis of reaching for ones’s success story
When you Look around see many successful men and women.They are people who have excelled in their fields. So it is fair to say you know what success is. Well, no! It isn’t! In as much as everyone strive to succeed, you’d never succeed if you don’t have a personal definition. Success therefore is what you as a person have decided to do. A target you set for yourself. It is not necessarily owning a multi-million dollar company, it’s not wearing the latest and most expensive clothes or it isn’t even riding the best ride. Success is much more than what you see in successful people it’s a function of your decision you decide what success is to you. It is reaching the goals you’ve set. It is hitting your target. Only when you’ve scaled the heights of your set benchmarks or your yardsticks for measuring success would you be in line to succeed.
Deep down it has to do with a lack of Self-Love. "I love you as much as I love myself instead of "I love myself as much as I love you" should be our directive, realizing that we can give Love to others only to the extend we love ourselves and not vice versa. Exactly this happens with achievement, as placing ourselves second means we are not in alignment with our own unique path, craving the end-product instead...
Success can only be defined by the hand of He who has dreamt of achieving it...
Success never happens by accident; it is always the result of intention...
Nobody wins by chance... We win because we want to...
Because we are willing to go through the discomfort and difficult tricky situations that require us to get from point A to point B.
When we arrive at our destination, after a perilous journey, we feel all of the merit under our belt, and we become people capable of anything...
First we must dream... Then we must live that dream, and follow it to its natural conclusion...
All dreams are possible through perseverance and intention
From a very simple perspective, we understand the meaning of 'success' and earn a lot of money and become financially rich. But think a little deeper! What does 'success' mean only this financial perfection? No, not at all. Success is such a thing that brings you an incredible happiness and brings an unimaginable joy to everyday activities. In reality, the definition of 'success' can be given in many ways. Because there are different types of success in each aspect. In general, whenever you do not enjoy any kind of work, then you are far away from success. 'Success' is like an open window covered with a blissful happiness. Whenever you start thinking of yourself as a happy person full of people, you will be able to identify as a successful person only.
I'm always enjoying reading your post @gbenga .what I really learnt here is that someone must know the reason why he or she is on earth, everybody has his or her own glory but if your life is not clearly define or it's been defined by others opinions then it's difficult for such an individual to realize is dreams. Don't let other peoples lives affect you negatively rather be a photocopy to someone. Be yourself!!
