To be valued, value yourself
What value did you place on yourself?
When we talk about value, people think of non living things like money and commodity, we often forget that there exists human value. Just like goods, the value you place on yourself is the value people will accord to you, it's your self-worth. For instance, When a trader tells a customer the price of goods, the customer either pays for that amount or try to bid lower. Your value is what determines peoples respect for you, their regard towards you, your position, integrity, also your peace of mind.
Placing a value on yourself requires you to have value for yourself, once you do this, people will automatically value you at that pace. Now how do you go about this??
- Acknowledge the importance of human value.
- Never criticise yourself.
- Appreciate yourself.
- Digest all the motivations you can.
- Break out of your comfort zone.
- Reach for the stars.
- Be purposeful.
- Stop comparison.
- Discover your core values and invest in them.
- Be courageous
- Stand for what you are passionate about.
- Don't follow the crowd.
- Think big.
- Positivity.
- Never settle for less.
- Accept your imperfections.
- Stand for the truth.
- Stay determined.
- Be you.
Measuring your self-worth with external factors is totally wrong, it's more about the inner peace. Here are some lovely quotes on Human Value:
I've learned that fear limits you and your vision. It serves as blinders to what may be just a few steps down the road for you. The journey is valuable, but believing in your talents, your abilities, and your self-worth can empower you to walk down an even brighter path. Transforming fear into freedom - how great is that?
Soledad O'Brien
The best way to avoid falling prey to the opinions of others is to realize that other people's opinions are just that - opinions. Regardless of how great or terrible they think you are, that's only their opinion. Your true self-worth comes from within.
Travis Bradberry
No one can make you happy. No one can help you grow in life more than you can. I can love you to death, but I can only go so far. I can inspire and encourage you as much as I can, but when you play an active role to find that self-security and that self-worth, it makes the difference.

In Yoruba Language an adage is translated thus
The value people place on us is based on their estimation of how we value ourselves and how we value ourselves is based on how well we acknowledge, understand and appreciate who we really are.
Good stuff here @jeaniepearl
I totally agree with your point, @evashinen. When you communicate yourself well to other people, respect almost always comes willingly. You needn't ask people for it.
Very true @thegaillery
YOu got it right dear

I love this post. The value we place on ourselves should be priceless, no one is worthless it is all about how we apprehend our inner nature and manifest it.
