Inspiration of life

in #motivation7 years ago

One day, there was a very good woodcutter applying for a job to a timber trader, and he was accepted to work. The pay is high as well as comfortable working conditions. For that reason, the woodcutter is determined to do the best.

His boss gave him an ax and showed him the area where he was supposed to work.

The first day, the woodcutter brought 18 trees.

"Good," said the boss. "Keep it that way!"

Highly motivated by the boss's words, the woodcutter worked harder the next day, but he could only carry 15 trees. The third day he tried harder, but he could only carry 10 trees. Day by day the number of trees he brought was diminishing and diminishing.

"I think I'm losing strength," the woodcutter thought. He went to the boss and apologized, he said that he did not understand why this happened.

"When was the last time you sharpened your ax?" His boss asked.

"Sharpening? I do not have time to sharpen the ax I'm very busy cutting trees ..." Reflection: Our lives are like that. Sometimes so busy that we do not take the time to sharpen the "Ax". Nowadays, everyone looks busier than before, but not so happy.

Why is that? Could we have forgotten how to stay "Sharp"? There is nothing wrong with activity and hard work. But we always feel so busy that we ignore the things that really matter in life, like our personal lives, take time to pray, give more time to family, spend time reading etc.

We all need time to relax, to think and reflect, to learn and grow. If we do not take the time to sharpen the "Ax", we will Become dull and lose the effectiveness of life.
