In the darkness there is a light,
Which shines brighter than most,
Visible from any distance,
Reachable by some,
That light is a mother,
An esteemed status not all can seem to bear,
Not all seem to measure,
It is not applied by a single action,
Not reached within nine months,
A mother lives a life of love,
Endless and unconditional love,
Shared with those she keeps close to her heart,
When times get difficult and most would run,
A mother's arms are open wide,
The comfort of her hug relieves most sorrows,
And cures most frights,
As today it is your day,
We celebrate that you are here,
The very miracle of you,
As the choices you have made have painted the blank canvas of your life,
We celebrate the person that is you,
And we thank you for being you,
For everything you have done,
For everyone you are,
