Makki Mosque | Zahedan, Iran, 2017

Photo taken in the capital of Balochistan and Sistan Ostan (province) in eastern iranian frontier with Pakistan and Afghanistan. City is predominantly sunni in shia Iran. Mosque is under construction for more than 40 years. Because of the politics it has to be funded by the locals.

During the conversation with office director it was said they are staying far from sunni extremists who are present in Balochistan area (Balochistan is huge territory divided by Afghanistan, Iran and Pakistan inhabited mostly by Balochi people).
