And in our country there are many large and small birds, funny and sad monuments and sculptures. Behind each of these pieces is often a moving story or reminder of an important event.
Bird monuments installed in large and small cities of Russia can be divided into three large groups: sculptures with pigeons, storks and other feathered friends.
The dove is a well-known symbol of peace. Monuments with these birds are often directly associated with the end of wars and the reign of peace on Earth. The stork symbolizes the figure of the family and children. And now in order for all the feathered inhabitants of the city.

The idea of creating a monument belongs to the head of the administration of the city of AK Klimenkov. This idea was embodied in bronze and granite by Smolensk sculptor Igor Chumakov.

The monument to Angarsk is a sculptural image of a flock of 17 pigeons orbiting the ground. Frozen in flight, these peaceful birds symbolize victory, peaceful life, and city building started. The monument's inauguration coincided with the Victory Day in 2005. The author is Sergey Nazarov. The overall composition has quite impressive dimensions. Each pigeon weighs 250 kg, the total weight of the monument is 8 tons and the height is 8 m. 7 million rubles were spent on construction and installation. The composition was made at the Angarsk mechanical repair plant. The main idea of the monument is to reflect people's eternal aspirations for peace and creation.
