Marlee Asks, How Do I Combat Pro-GMO Propaganda?
by SGT, SGT report.com:
I received this email today from an informed young lady named Marlee who wants to know how she can combat the corporate propaganda about how GMO foods are awesome, because evidently many of her friends are under-informed and gullible. Here’s what she wrote:
I’m a frequent listener, and just wondering if you could shed some light on this video. I have a lot of friends who aren’t exactly informed on much of anything, only what they see on Facebook, shared by other idiots. This video is great for spreading the info that the war on GMOs is misinformed but I was hoping you could help me out in disproving a lot of the claims this video makes. Just for the sake of conversations with my ignorant friends. Some people need the awakening and aren’t getting it because of videos like this, but I am not confident enough to be able to argue the points made in it, just looking for a little help in that. Thanks for all you do, I’m new to the community and so far only listen on youtube, but I’m slowly moving to your other platforms as well. Thank you.
Marlee attached the video below, which at the 3:07 mark makes this claim: "Eating GMO plants is no more risky than eating their non-GMO equivalent." Watch the propaganda fro yourself, if you can "stomach" it.
Are GMOs Good or Bad? Genetic Engineering & Our Food
And here's my response to Marlee:
Hi Marlee, this is a VERY important topic. The following is my (informed) opinion:
Monsanto is one of the most evil corporations in the world. They want to "OWN" as much of the world's food supply as they can.
In layman's terms, Monsanto scientists insert the ROUND UP poison (Glyphosate) into the genes of the "corn" or "soybeans", etc. so that the plant is then "round up resistant" when farmers spray the crops. Here's a more scientific explanation of the Franken-science:
According to Hearst-owned Popular Science:
"Trait insertion" Now that you've got your genes, the next step is inserting them into the plants. There are a couple ways to do this, including using "gene guns" that literally shoot pieces of DNA. A .22-caliber charge fires a metal particle coated with DNA into plant tissue. Monsanto no longer uses the technique, but it's still widely used among other biotech companies.Because the plant's genes have been altered, Monsanto is then allowed to PATENT the new plant which they then claim to "OWN". Farmers that decided to sign the contract with Monsanto to grow those Monsanto seeds then must RE-buy the seeds from Monsanto each and every season - along with the Round Up with which to spray their fields.
Again, from Popular Science:
The company produces the herbicide Roundup, and also seeds whose genes have been engineered to survive Roundup's active plant-killing ingredient. Now the vast majority of this country's soybeans, corn, sugar beets and canola possess those engineered genes.SO... we the people are then ingesting the corn that has been sprayed with Round Up and ingesting corn that also has the poison in the genes of the plant.
Read this article and consider this: Why is RUSSIA making the move away from GMOs?
http://www.naturalnews.com/051242_GM_crops_Russia_non-GMO.html
Google the dangers of GMO's and Round Up Ready corn and you will likely find many anti-Mike Adams (Natural News) articles. Mike is one of the leading voices educating people about the dangers of GMOs and now the corporate powers that be (Google) are doing everything they can to bury TRUTH articles, so that the top news returns on the subject are character assassination hit pieces on the truth tellers.
Have you head about "Agent Orange" which was used in the Vietnam war to kill enemy troops? That was a Monsanto product.
Spend some time on You Tube searching for GMO dangers. You may want to begin by watching the excellent documentary "The World According to Monsanto"
God Bless Marlee.
And friends, here's a recap of the big picture from You Tube's Dismantle the Matrix:
There's nothing they are leaving untouched: the mustard, the okra, the bringe oil, the rice, the cauliflower. Once they have established the norm: that seed can be owned as their property, royalties can be collected. We will depend on them for every seed we grow of every crop we grow. If they control seed, they control food, they know it -- it's strategic. It's more powerful than bombs. It's more powerful than guns.
This is the best way to control the populations of the world. The story starts in the White House, where Monsanto often got its way by exerting disproportionate influence over policymakers via the "revolving door". One example is Michael Taylor, who worked for Monsanto as an attorney before being appointed as deputy commissioner of the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 1991. While at the FDA, the authority that deals with all US food approvals, Taylor made crucial decisions that led to the approval of GE foods and crops. Then he returned to Monsanto, becoming the company's vice president for public policy.
Thanks to these intimate links between Monsanto and government agencies, the US adopted GE foods and crops without proper testing, without consumer labeling and in spite of serious questions hanging over their safety. Not coincidentally, Monsanto supplies 90 percent of the GE seeds used by the US market.
Monsanto's long arm stretched so far that, in the early nineties, the US Food and Drugs Agency even ignored warnings of their own scientists, who were cautioning that GE crops could cause negative health effects. Other tactics the company uses to stifle concerns about their products include misleading advertising, bribery and concealing scientific evidence.
Excellent websites on GMOs:
Thanks, i'm almost done watching this. It is indeed excellent!
Even if SOMEHOW GMOs were good, we still put on a metric F ton of fertilizer, bug sprays, preservatives into our food that IS NOT GOOD FOR US at all... That stuff all has tons and tons of chemicals/heavy metals =badddd bad bad bad bad.
you did a real good report here and we will upvote and resteem
Upvoted! Muck Fonsanto!
This is a really interesting take. I always assumed that the principal argument against GMOs had more to do with them being somehow less healthy to eat, as opposed to how genetically modifying food can help a company to corner the market.
Out of curiosity, any ideas as to why the discussion isn't more commonly framed through the lens you use here?
You changed my mind on this topic, and I thank you for that. I hope you feel good that you did that for a person today :)
Great post! I think it comes down to eugenics. Population control.
Thank you. Clear, concise and easy to understand. Upvoted and resteemed.
Thanks for a great article about the dangers of gmo's. Perhaps some of the young people have never experienced an organic food of any variety. If one shops at a large grocery store there isn't much choice. None of the fruits or vegetables have any flavor. The sad part is the shelf life of a tomatoe can be longer than a gallon of milk. Also full of hormones and gmo's. 🐓🐓
MONSANTO = SATANS FARMER ‼️
