Tunnel vision is a condition in which the eyes can only see what is directly in front. This is caused by the loss of peripheral vision which is what allows you to see something beside you without having to turn your head. To understand what this looks like, imagine that you are standing inside a tunnel looking out and all you can see is that light at the end. The sides are dark so you cannot see what is beside you.

When starting a business, tunnel vision can form when you focus so hard on what is in front of you that you cannot see the big picture. An example of this can be maintaining the rank of Executive Affiliate which requires 1500 Versa Points every month. The easiest way to maintain the necessary VPs is to create a standing order that will keep you qualified. It is the easiest way, but it is not the only way.

If an affiliate looks at the big picture instead of focusing on the standing order option alone, other ways of gaining VPs will surface quickly, but if tunnel vision has taken over, those other options of maintaining the EA rank will never be seen. This is why the fight against tunnel vision is one of the biggest battles for new affiliates.

How can you win the battle against tunnel vision? You have to make up your mind to look at the big picture. And the best way to do that is to go through the launchpad lessons and learn about the many different parts of SFI as you go. Keep in mind that there are several paths to success which means that if you get stuck in one area, you can always move to something else so you can keep moving forward.

If you struggle with making sales, start recruiting team members instead. If you struggle with recruiting team members, work on gaining some ECAs so you can earn royalties. If you struggle with gaining ECAs, think about your skills and resources and you just might surprise yourself. You could become an ECA and start selling something in Tripleclicks!
