You've heard the saying, "Millenials rule!" Or is it "Millenials are lazy bums!" ? Whichever one you've heard depends on how old you are ( 😂 ). However, the fact remains that millenials are a queer bunch and dont always like to spend their days in dingy office cubicles seated next to old boring workmates for 8 hours, five days a week. Millenials enjoy exciting things. So here are 6 exciting jobs that, if honed well, could earn you a big payday.

  1. Social Media Influencer/manager.
Dont we all love social media! If you are witty and good at coining clickable tidbits, this could be a job for you. Basically, companies employ or outsource a social media influencer to garner awareness in fun ways through fun social media like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram because Millenials love fun. Influncers do this by coining witty and funny lines or memes for the said company allowing their followers to become aware of the product at hand. Social Media influencers, together with comedians, were used by Barrack Obama's team to save his Medical Insurance campaign.

  2. Web and App developers.
What is a business without a website these days? With the whole universe being condensed into our smartphones, we end up spending so much time online and for any business to catch our attention, they must have a presence online. People who can design engaging and creative websites and layouts are increasingly on demand. Businesses are also increasingly relying on smartphone applications to ease the service delivery to their customers. Take advantage.

  3. Content providers.
Company websites need engaging stories and answers to customer questions and providing an endless flow of this is quickly becoming a priority for companies. If you are talented at weaving tales and wowing people with your written word, this could be an opportunity to consider. You need to be at par with customer trends and you have to provide content that is helpful, fun, worth a read.

  4. Data scientist.
This a very important job. Data science, essentially, is interpreting troves of data into information with business value. You are basically a palm reader who reads consumer behaviour and tells businesses what to do next. Netflix uses data science to determine which type of series you would enjoy and then uses that iformation to produce the Netflix original series. I think now you can see how important you are to a rich business owner if you have skills with data. Its helpful if you are good with math and technology.

  5. Bloggers/Writers.
Blogging never goes out of style. However, like everything else, the key is to provide value. Pick a niche you are good at and concetrate on answering pivotal burning questions from your readers. This will drive your traffic and more traffic means more payday. You can also specialise in guest blogging for other bloggers on topics you like.

  6. Editors.
The writers need someone to have their back, someone to catch the mistakes they missed. If you are good at grammar and were a spelling bee legend, this could be worth a try. You could edit a blog, a website, or even a magazine. Editors make the writers look good and they dont get paid peanuts for their hard work. 😉

  7. SEO specialist.
If editors make writers look good, then SEO specialists make websites look good. SEO basically mean all the tricks and hacks that are used to help an article get seen on top of a google page way before all the other competing articles. This is called "ranking". SEO is generally a feared area so if you can hack it, you can line your wallet nicely with doh (or is it dough. Or Doe?) You have to be on top of all Google™ updates and changes, (and i mean the company not the search engine) because they always upgrade tactics of deciding which articles are worth their users reading so you have to be quick on your feet.
Most of these jobs will not pay insanely well immediately, so you need to hone your skill daily with constant practice and learning the tricks of your field. Maintain patience. If your work is good, your pay too will be good. So now that you have all these cool jobs, what are you still doing in that dingy cubicle?
