2017 - Year of Bitcoin
2018 - Year of Blockchain
2019 - Year of the Currency
2020 - Boom

This journey has only just started and it's great place to be for us to be, we are already moving to a Digital Economy and Currency - Banking Apps and Digital products are already in use now but we remain in central Government control and conditioning with a FIAT "Mindset". In my opinion Bitcoin will be Digital Gold and will be store of Value for generations to come. The question of "Method of Exchange" is being held back by Government and Regulation that don't want this to be decentralised as they will lose control, if this was not a issue some of the other coins may have progressed further to replace Fiat such a LiteCoin, Dash, Monero,Etc but it's yet to be tested who will prevail which will come in 2019. The other issue is that National Governments don't was a Global Currency and will introduce their own Digital Currencies to try mitigate this and use Centralised systems like Ripple to try achieve global payment (FX) but time will tell whether the global population will adopt the global Crypto-currencies and remove control from government and free us all.
