On Stocks, Coins, and Things

I figured I would explain how I got here to SteemIt and maybe you can share how you found your way here in the comments below.

It starts off with Robinhood. I’ll say a few words about that because I think they are great. If you haven’t heard of Robinhood it’s an application for your Smartphone (Web Interface is coming in the future) that enables you to buy and sell stocks fee free! I’m big on the concept of making stocks/investing available for the everyday person and Robinhood did that for me. You can create an account here.

I invested approximated $8000 and managed to make a 20% return in a single year! This got me more interested in investing. Being a techie person I remember back when Bitcoins were less than $1! After my success with Robinhood I started researching Cryptocurrencies, the technology behind them, and how they work. I was too late to catch a ride on the most recent cryptocurrency spike, but rather than just throw my money in right away I started researching the wide array of cryptocurrencies.

This led me to discover SteemIt. I’m still trying to learn more about SteemIt and how it works. I’m curious to see how it ends up fitting into the larger Cryptocurrency market. Cryptocurrencies are still very much in their infancy. So while the tech is great, I do wonder if it will go through a cryptocurrency bubble much like the Dot.com bubble of the late 90’s/early 00’s. I feel like they share similarities. I can expound more on my feelings about that in a later post.
