Is a single weed plant more profitable than investing in cryptocurrency?
This post is just for entertainment purposes, I don't advice you to grow your own weed since this is illegal in most countries
In some countries (for example Belgium) it is legal to own one weed plant for personal use.
To acquire all materials for growing you would pay around 200 euro (seed, soil, heat lamp, ventilation,...) with an anual cost of 50 euro (water, electricity, fertilizer,...). But at the end of the year after 5 cultivations you would end up with around 225- 300 grams of weed (45-60 per cultivation, it depends of alot of different factors). At the average price of 8 euro per grams, you make about 1800-2400 euro (average is 2100 euro). Only if you sell everything ofcourse (which is illegal).
If your starting material would last for about 4 years, you end up paying 50 euros per year. So together with the anual cost of 50 euros, your anual costs are around 100 euros to end up with a profit of around 2000 euro. This is an 2.000% increase.
This 2000% increase over one year time is more than the increase of bitcoin (1300%) and alot of other cyrptocurrencies.
If you would invest around 100 euros for a year time it would be more profitable to buy a single weed plant. But you end up being a criminal. (But since you already are, you could make alot more by growing multiple plants, each with an 2.000% increase)
Ofcourse I wouldn't suggest you to do this since it is illegal and investing in cryptocurrencies is more profitable over a longer period of time, and especially if you know what you are doing.

Mining cryptocurrencies uses a lot of power. So does growing cannabis, but you can grow it outside in the open for free (if you have free out of the jail card), mining utdoors is way harder. ;)
