Altcoins investing
I have a strong filing that Bitcoin has its limits and sooner or later will be changed with something more advanced. So to benefit from this process I'm going to build a portfolio of 5-10 promising altcoins to hold it with a horizon of 2-3 years.
From the first look, I'd choose something like: Emercoin, Monero, Waves.
Any suggestions which altcoin platform has a real value big enough to support a growth at this timescale?
The Alt-Coins that might break out from their current spots are Ethereum, Dash, Monero, Bitshares, Steem and Maidsafe.
There's a few others that have potential too such as NEM and NEXT. There's always wild cards like Ripple, but who knows what the hell is going on with Ripple these days. They've moved to their own segment in a way, but there's always a possibility of them landing something unforseen and the price going up.

All the major projects are going to stick with the real Ethereum. What you're seeing now is just a bump in the road I believe. I don't personally think Ethereum Classic has any kind of future.
Ethereum classic isn't relevant to ethereum issues highlighted over the mutability and stopability of ethereum dapps in direct contrast to how they advertise. Now even I have no idea what the ethereum moral police will find acceptable and what not. The major projects are the only hope ethereum has at recovering any price value it's been losing non stop since $21 USD, and this highlight over their poor managment has done long term permanent damage even if classy fails.
Look for good governance and discussion open to actual dialogue
Maybe I should try to communicate with the teams and directly ask where are they going...

And am currently scoping the many ways it can go wrong.
Up near the top of the list is breaking community spirit.
write a post explaining why each coin that you pick has a future.
