When will the Next Recession Happen?
Here is an infographic I made for my website One Peso a Day. It shows the timeline of recessions in the United States as well as the generally accepted reasons for why they occurred:
We can see here that the longest span of time without a recession is 10 years. The last recession happened 9 years ago. IF this trend continues, the next recession could occur by the end of 2018. Make sure you have enough stockpiles of liquid assets aka cash and less risky investments.
There won't be a recession this year,
There will be a full on Depression!
Further, i would get into risky investments... or maybe anti-risky.
The stock market will crash, then crash again, and then crash and never recover. As in, ever.
Bonds and The US dollar are going to hyperinflate. But first, the hyperinflation is going to be seen in the stock market.
So... during this time, the stock market is going to go rapidly up, and rapidly down. Invest in cryptos.
I wouldn't necessarily extrapolate information from the past in such a simplistic way in order to find certain conclusions. The market may turn tomorrow or it may turn in three years. It's hard to tell. But you're right that we should be prepared for such a downturn when it does happen.
The market and those artificially stabilizing it have created an interesting system and one that suits them well for now. But I suspect that they overestimate their ability to control such things and all it will take is one random unseen event to cause a chain reaction in an artificial and fragile system with too much centralized risk.
The traditional markets may continue to rise despite the odds, because of good fortune, but if you keep pushing your luck, eventually you'll lose.
