Growing a side hustle - Update #1
The chilli plants grow!
It’s taking a while, but my chilli plants are slowly growing with new seeds continuing to germinate.
This week is quite special since I have just finished potting up one of the chilli plants that I propagated from seed that I purchased. Along with the guy in the image below, I potted up another 3 chilli plants that I propagated from chillies that I have been growing in my garden for about a year now.
I’m not sure if it is the time of year, however the rate of growth appears to be on the slow side. But next week I expect to be potting up another 5 or so chilli plants. Which will bring my total number of plants to somewhere in the order of 20 plants.
Hopefully, unless disease strikes which is a real concern right now, I will have a mountain of fruit on my plants in the next 3 - 4 months.
And by then I will need to have decided on what it is that I will sell.
- chilli plants themselves?
- dried chilli flakes?
- powdered chilli?
- chilli oil?
Who knows, I’m still working on that one. The most important thing right now is to create a large crop. Which I am well on track to produce.
What chilli related products do you think will sell the best?

You could always test the waters and try selling a bit of everything, then see what seems to be most in demand or the most profitable.
