Money is a privilege, not a rightsteemCreated with Sketch.

Money is an integral part of modern life. We meet money in every moment of our life. We meet money every single day. And for most of people money can play a determinant value in their lives. Money plays different roles in economic and social live.
As I understood this topic, money is something that can give us something we want even if we really don’t need it. But first of I would like to discuss about what privilege is. Privilege is the advantage, the exclusive right dedicated to someone unlike others. So, it means that money as a privilege can give us something that other people do not have. It might be true for most of us but also it might be unfair because not every person who owns loads of money deserve it. We live in the world where money plays the biggest role, where money most of the time is a reason why one person can kill another person, where because of money even a country can invade another country. I have a simple example just to make you understand that money is not a right. If we look at the United States of America, we can see the richest country in the World. Of course, as it is the wealthiest country it has a big privilege. But we see what US government does towards other countries. US army invaded the country like Libya, Iraq, and Syria. The question is “Why”? I think, the do it because they have a strong army and they are rich. They think that they can let themselves do everything they want because they have more power and influence. As is said before, The United States has a big and strong army, but how did they make this army strong and how did they reach everything they have today? The answer is simple – by spending money. A person who earns a lot of money can think that he is a king of the world, but it cannot give him right to do everything he wants. Exactly, this is how I understand that money is not actually a right – it is that even you have billions you cannot let yourself do everything you want to do. The US is rightly the richest country but the US has no rights to let themselves take someone’s sovereignty and invade. Money, in this occasion, is just a symbol of power, it just male you look better in eyes of others.

Except the example with the US, I also have another example with another story but with a story that was written by George R.R Martin in his novel “A song of ice and fire”. There was a family called Lannister and there was a common saying “A Lannister always pays his debts”. This family is the richest in Westeros, which is the place where all the kingdoms live. They use their money as a weapon in order to threat and control other people. Throughout the story, I understood that the House of Lannisters has no differences with the USA. They both let themselves kill, take someone’s sovereignty, threat. Because they have money, they think that they are in right to do those things, which is actually incorrect. But, at the end of the story of the Game of Thrones the Lannisters will disappear from the map of the Westeros. This makes me thing of the destiny of the US in the future if they don’t stop.
So, as my conclusion I want to say, that money can give you a power, a privilege over other people, but money cannot give you a right to do everything you want by using your privileges and power which you got from you money.
