Amazon.com, Inc è un’azienda di commercio elettronico statunitense con sede a Seattle, Washington.

Con 341.400(2016) dipendenti, uno slogan ridondante e 136 miliardi di $ di fatturato, Jeff Bezos il suo fondatore, può sedersi tranquillamente sul trono di colui che è riuscito a creare la più grande Internet company  al mondo.

Torrazza Piemonte (La Tor, in piemontese) è un comune italiano di 2872 abitanti della città metropolitana di Torino, situata ai piedi delle Alpi nel nord ovest dello stivale e che nel 2006 ospitarono le magiche olimpiadi invernali.

Le mattinate d’inverno puoi vedere limpidamente le montagne innevate dalla finestra di casa tua, che scaldata dalla legna dei pioppi ormai ardenti, ben si distribuisce tra un campo di allevamento ed un altro, in un paese ancora in grado di regalare la pace e la tranquillità alle persone che preferiscono ancora oggi i lenti ritmi delle città contadine ai nevrotici ritmi delle grandi città.

Quale relazione tra il gigante Amazon.com, Inc e la piccola Tor?

Avete mai sentito la canzone “L’elefante e la farfalla” dj un famoso cantautore italiano? Se siete italiani, probabilmente ricordate, se non siete italiani, probabilmente non avete idea di cosa stia parlando, ma…lo ammetto, non ho potuto fare a meno di pensare a questa canzone (il che mi fa sentire un pò sfigato ed un pò vecchio allo stesso tempo…)

Parla di un immenso elefante innamorato di una graziosa farfalla e, per quanto lenta malinconica e anche un pò triste, è la prima melodia che mi è venuta in mente cercando di associare questi due protagonisti: Amazon e Torrazza Piemonte.

Sarà infatti il mio piccolo paesino italico ad ospitare il nuovo immenso ed avaro magazzino logistico che, se seguirà le orme del cugino assemblato da poco nel comune di Larizzate, in frazione di Vercelli, sarà un bimbo che appena nato farà segnare sulla strumentazione geometrica dei geni dell’ingegneria che ne stanno seguendo lo sviluppo, circa 100 mila metri quadrati di colonne di cemento armato, pannelli isolanti, cavi elettrici e tutto ciò che può costituire un ottima base di partenza che porterà a circa 2000 dipendenti nei prossimi 5 anni.
L’energia positiva che può portare una locazione per 2000 nuovi dipendenti che potranno trovare lavoro all’interno del polo possiamo facilmente immaginarli, ma quanti sono 100 mila metri quadri?

Non riuscite ad immaginarlo?Ve lo mostro io!Romantico di tramonto...

Questa immagine è rilevata grazie ad una webcam a grandangolo che l’azienda ha caricato sul proprio sito online consentendo a chiunque fosse interessato, di seguire l’andamento dello sviluppo dei lavori.

Lavori che hanno causato quello che possiamo vedere da questa foto.

Qualcuno ci vede progresso, qualcuno ci vede tristezza, ma qual’è il prezzo da pagare per lo sviluppo del gretto capitalismo?Quale compromesso dobbiamo ancora una volta accettare per inseguire il gigante?Il gigante che non curante della favola che ancora avvolge i villaggi di pochi abitanti sperduti per il territorio italiano, ne spazza via la tranquillità, la serenità, i profumi della campagna italiana, rimpiazzando il tutto con l’annullamento della favola stessa, in cambio di denaro, gloria ed onore.

Ma quale onore?Quale onore per quell’elefante di quella malinconica canzone se, invece di un leale compagno di vita, si mostrasse invece con il tempo soltanto uno di quelli che soprattutto voi ragazze amate chiamare “stronzi!”?

Del resto i mal pensanti potrebbero subito pensare che infondo quest’amore è soltanto basato sulla possibilità di un’espropriazione immensa di territorio desertificabile a sacrificio in favor del Dio capitalismo, collocato in una posizione da far invidia a qualsiasi stratega militare più veterano. 

Per spiegarlo con la descrizione di un piatto, visto che siamo in Italia, uno chef se volesse sintetizzare questo ambiguo rapporto chiamerebbe il suo piatto: trionfo di comodità logistica di territorio disboscato con autostrada Torino-Milano su letto di affari facili con un pizzico di disturbo di qualsiasi quiete notturna!

“Porterà tantissimi posti di lavoro!” mi dicono in tanti e questo a voce della maggior parte dei cittadini locali è ad oggi, il più grande “bene” che potrebbe portare un colosso di questo calibro.

“Bene” ma non benissimo, direbbe qualcun altro, invece.

Perché? Perché appurato che l’azienda probabilmente porterà un po’ di aria fresca sui dati statistici riguardanti la disoccupazione, è anche vero che gli ormai sempre più circolanti rumors, video ed articoli riguardanti le pessime condizioni di lavoro dei dipendenti Amazon(riferimento all'inchiesta del New York Times), mi fa personalmente palesare in testa soltanto una domanda:

Quale prezzo siamo disposti a pagare, anche noi sperduti abitanti di paese, per l’avvento del Dio capitalismo?

Mentre porgo a voi questa riflessione, continuo a pensare al pascolo di mucche e capre che mi ha attraversato la strada questa mattina mentre tornavo verso casa, rallentando il mio percorso, è vero, ma rallentando anche la mia mente…il mio animo, la mia fretta…colpito sulle palpebre da un sole caldo mentre la neve delle montagne all’orizzonte fa da cornice a quel preciso momento, penso e personalmente continuo a sognare la pace di uno scampanellio provocato dalle lunge passeggiate di bestiame, che non sia mai sostituito dal collerico e nevrastenico suono di sbuffanti ruspe da lavoro…ma ciò che fino a poco tempo fa, sembrava la totale normalità, oggi è un futuro incerto.

Il mio amico Yoro nel frattempo, ha deciso come mostra con fierezza in questa foto  successiva che vi propongo, di piegarsi e cedere alla volontà della più fervida avarizia, abbuffandosi di ottima carne di agnello in scatola e verdure di stagione, invece di una sana e spensierata passeggiata nei nostri bellissimi prati…terrorizzato dal gran numero di camion.

What relationship between the giant Amazon.com, Inc and the small Tor?

Have you ever heard the song "The elephant and the butterfly" singed by a famous Italian singer-songwriter?

If you are Italian, you probably remember, if you are not Italian, probably

you have no idea what I'm talking about, but ... I admit it, I could not help but think about this song (which makes me feel a little unlucky and a little old at the same time ...)

 It speaks of an immense elephant in love with a pretty butterfly and, however slow and melancholy a little sad, is the first melody that came to my mind trying to associate these two protagonists: Amazon and Torrazza Piemonte.

It will be my little Italian village to host the new immense and miserable logistics warehouse that, if followed in the footsteps of the cousin recently assembled in the municipality of Larizzate, in the hamlet of Vercelli(another Italian city), will be a newborn child will mark on the geometric instrumentation of the genes of the engineering that are following the development, about 100 thousand square meters of reinforced concrete columns, insulating panels, electrical cables and everything that can constitute an excellent starting point that will lead to about 2000 employees in the next 5 years.

The positive energy that can bring a location for 2000 new employees who can find work inside the pole can easily imagine them, but how many are 100 thousand square meters?

Someone sees progress, someone sees us sad, but what is the price to pay for the development of narrow capitalism? What compromise must we once again accept to follow the giant? The giant who does not care about the fable that still surrounds the villages of few inhabitants lost for the Italian territory, sweeps away the tranquility, the serenity, the scents of the Italian countryside, replacing everything with the cancellation of the story itself, in exchange for money, glory and honor.

What an honor? What an honor for that elephant of that melancholy song, if instead of a loyal life partner, you would show instead with the time only one of those that you especially love to call "assholes!"?

After all the ill-thinking might immediately think that this love is based only on the possibility of an expropriation of immense desertificable territory to sacrifice in favor of the capitalism God, placed in a position to envy any veteran military strategist.

To explain it with the description of a dish, since we are in Italy, a chef would like to summarize this ambiguous relationship would call his plate: triumph of logistical comfort of territory deforested with Turin-Milan highway on a bed of easy business with a bit of trouble of any nocturnal quiet!

"It will bring a lot of jobs!" Many say to me and this to the voice of most local citizens is today, the biggest "good" that would bring a colossus of this caliber.

"Good" but not “goodness”, someone else would say instead.

Why? What price are we willing to pay, even we lost inhabitants of the country, for the advent of God capitalism?

While I offer this reflection to you, I continue to think of the pasture of cows and goats that crossed the road this morning while I was returning home, slowing down my path, it is true, but also slowing my mind ... my soul, my hurry ... hit on the eyelids by a warm sun while the snow of the mountains on the horizon is the frame at that precise moment, I think and personally continue to dream of the peace of a ringing caused by long walks of cattle, which is never replaced by the choleric and neurasthenic sound of puffing work scrapers ... but what until recently, seemed the total normality, today is an uncertain future.
