Today's mom versus yesterday's
Today’s mom versus yesterdays!
The only relation so pure and full of unconditional love is of a MOTHER! Having said that, each mom is different than the other. Now that doesn’t make them any less than being a mom!
My observation today is of mothers today and mothers back then! To put into simple words My Mom and I…in Muslim world it is believed that “Your Heaven lies beneath your mother’s feet”. I have grown up hearing and believing in this phrase since all my life. This phrase means that respect must be shown to all mothers.
Coming back to the topic at hand, now I have been observing a slight change in the brought up of parents. Today’s mother believe that spanking must be charged guilty! Even if your kid is misbehaving, even if your kid doesn’t respect you, even if he hit you or other…..no matter what just SAY NO TO SPANKING. Mothers back then were very strict. They would teach respect to kids, and if the kids are not learning through proper means then I believe a little bit of strictness wont harm the kid. In fact it tells a certain kid who the boss is. Just like I knew mom is the BOSS. Period.
I believe we shouldn’t pamper kids that much. Now by that I don’t mean stop loving them but start showing No means No once in a while. After all who would want to raise a bad human being. Hence a little bit strictness would spare you of raising kids who might raise their voices against you tomorrow. It helps in raising an obedient child. Also a kid becomes tough and is able to endure the outside world, the criticisms and harsh conditions!
Thus all new moms, please don’t make your kid cranky and over sensitive Love them from all your heart but there are certain times for NO'S and NA'S as well. Eventually every mother wants what is best for their child.
I agree. I spank my 1st son too for him to be aware if he does something not nice, there wil be an unwanted consequence but not too painful and I always explain to him what mistake he has done to make him understand. Spanking can be helpful also talking and explaining to them clearly and slowly could be a lot of help too.
thats exactly what i want to say...i mean i am against extremism but a lil bit of strictness wont do any harm! i myself am a mom and experienced as well regarding this issue. however nowadays some moms woul start bashing you for raising even your voices :-(
