IMMUTABILITY
What is immutability?
Immune to change.
Why is immutability pivotal to the dynamics of blockchain technology?
Blockchain technology is going to immensely transform the manner, which business is conducted, communities function, and venture beyond the scope of cryptocurrency. The social, political, and economic arenas could have the potential to inflict positive and negative, direct and/or indirect ramifications.
So, why is immutability crucial and fundamental to the authentic dynamics behind blockchain technology?
Blockchain technology, is quickly evolving and intergrating with emerging technologies, which will greatly impact the world we live in.
The recent Binance hack is a perfect example, of the fallacy of not only the immutability as a paramount attribute of Bitcoin's network, but blockchain technology all together. The majority of the major and notable cryptocurrency exchanges are centralized, which makes them susceptible to modification and higher security risks.
BEYOND: CURRENCY, INFORMATION, & BLOCKS
Tulic, of Crypto Journal mentions, "At the core of a genuine blockchain technology is the: immutability, resistance to censorship, no central authority to tamper with it, and the scarcity of its assests."
SMILEY FACES: KNARLES BARKLEY
"The Minority Report," meets blockchain.
There's more than just your crypto at risk when it comes to blockchain, but ponder heavy recruitment of smart contracts among a variety of industries.
Perretti, of The Guardian reports, "Palantir, the CIA-backed startup, is Minority Report come true. It is all-powerful, yet no one knows it even exists. Palantir does not have an office, it has a “SCIF” on a back street in Palo Alto, California. SCIF stands for “sensitive compartmentalised information facility”. Palantir says its building “must be built to be resistant to attempts to access the information within. The network must be ‘airgapped’ from the public internet to prevent information leakage.”
Additionally, Peretti expresses, "Palantir’s defence systems include advanced biometrics and walls impenetrable to radio waves, phone signal or internet. Its data storage is blockchained: it cannot be accessed by merely sophisticated hacking, it requires digital pass codes held by dozens of independent parties, whose identities are themselves protected by blockchain."
Again, what does immutability really mean and what's the big deal$
