Today is a special TROLL day, so instead of stepping on them, I will try to help them. Most of my posts about them are usually "funny" rants, but seeing fresh account out there who are losing their first REP points, I said to myself... If I only save one, it's all good I guess. Did my part, moving on...
Whats the main problem for it? Well, simple. MONEY: dinero, pesos, euros, dollars... This is the driving force behind the human stupidity. So lots of folks come from countries that are not "the best place to be", hope that was not offensive in any way. As they do their first Trending Posts mouse scroll, all they see is big bucks. Clicking on the post or the author, all they see is more money and of course the number of followers.
Let me tell you something about that, 1 @dolphin or @whale can give an upvote worth 1000s of @minnow votes combined. That being said if authors get 10 or 20% of their whole following to see that one post, it's a good thing. Be sure everybody will not see it.

Got 5K followers? GREAT, lolz... But you cannot earn 0.10cents? Hmm... That's weird, what could it be? Oouu yeah, nobody cares about your spam, and the ones who do have a vote weaker than my fart. Get it now?
Following means something, BUT ITS NOT EVERYTHING. I see folks smashing the reward pool with f$%&%&g awesome posts, getting 100s of dollars per post, but only got 300 followers. That was just an example. They have a strong Steemian or two in there yeah, 4 sure!
You have to stop for a sec, and think about your actions! Maybe there are some people who think: "My rep is 25, I must be number 1 to be the top author, lolz." Hope that's not the case.
DO NOT rush yourself into things that could harm you, or back fire later. I remember every person who gets a flag from me, it's printed in someone's mind. Like having a bar fight: "what did you say about my precious Steemit? Wanna take this outside?". But I don't visit bars much, so it rarely happens. I got some moves tho, don't worry "Ha Ha".
Start posting stuff, not comments!
I saw a "dumb dumb" on my fall a few days ago, who was begging for a follow-up, checked his blog... Nothing... Not even an introductory post, no nothing(Not BOTS, too low on comment numbers:) But what is there to follow? "Dumb Dumb" are you still with me=? Listen, read or whatever. GET YOUR s%&t together.
If you see that a few people flagged your comment, STOP POSTING IT. How can you go down to that nasty 3,4,5 REP? Are you that stupid?

If you found Steemit, and you know this is a caring community, plus you know there's some money to be made, please tell me/us why are you acting this way? I know every person got something in them, that "mojo" that makes them special, and yeah we are all special... Why waste maybe, your talent and ambitions? For that quick dollar, when you could do so much more! Learn here, grow here...
Just put in the time, effort and good things will come...
For starts, you can join any of my Challenges. Ask if you need help. BUT you have to commit to it because there will be some more question's in the future to come. If you are alright, almost any Steemian will try 2 help out, if you're a troll... Well, f$%$ you buddy:)

@kid4life there are many minnow that only join #steemit just to fill up the space. Until an individual understand the necessity of this community, he/she will always see it as avenue to ask for free sbd. There is no free lunch anywhere, your analysis on reputation dropping less than 25 is something else, when an individual receive flag as a result of mistake he or she made what he needs to do is to check and made correction but rather he/she continues because he has no understanding of what is doing. Thanks for this well explanations I have read a liittle I will still double check cos I have to learn more.

This was one of the first lessons I learned. One of my little early posts got like 262 votes, with a total reward value of maybe a quarter. WTF?
It's a game of numbers, but also a game of quality. Put out good enough content, then the RIGHT eyes will see you and you will get your rewards.
Would people rather have 262 votes (with maybe 15 actual page views) and no rewards? Or one whale vote with an actual page view and a reward of $40.00?
