Why won't MinnowBooster allow upvotes for DLive?
I think this decision does not make sense for several reasons.
As the DLive platform grows getting a bot upvote can help advertise/boost a stream.
DLive actually takes effort. Most of my streams last from 2-3 hours and I see many people with even longer streams. Why can streamers not get rewarded for this. Not only do you have to count the stream time, but you have to account for the time it takes to set everything up to stream and create a nice thumbnail. Streaming is not cheap either! I have nice equipment to stream like a c920 webcam and Blue Snowball microphone that I have spent money on to improve my stream quality. And I am also planning on getting a computer that can handle better stream quality which will easily cost $700! I think it is totally fair to use MinnowBooster for DLive.
You can also upload videos to DLive just like DTube. But you can upvote DTube with MinnowBooster? That doesn't make any sense. DLive's most recent campaign is actually a video campaign for Valentine's Day!
These are just a couple of short reasons I want to put out to MinnowBooster and hopefully they might reconsider. Once again, why not reward streamers who put a lot of money and time into setting up quality streams.
dlive quality cannot be verified easily, as the streams are often oflline by the time you discover them.
I don't know of any cases of spam in the community. It is pretty small so you would notice it right away.
Once DLive allows to rewatch streams, we can consider adding it back. Until then all dlive posts are 3 word low effort with a broken video.
And sure it is sad that they can't be boosted, but you can record your stream, put it on dtube and boost that. That way we can at least watch it a day after :)
