Is 15% not too less ? Once minnowbooster used to give double at 66%, so that is 100 percent, and after curation 75%.
We want to position our service as more of an advertising/promotion tool rather than a service that can be used for abuse and self-enrichment, 15% is modest enough to achieve this goal but still give users the ability to set their posts onto "hot" and "trending".
'you send $1 and get $1.15 back' - you don't get 1,15, you get about 75-80% of it, the rest goes to those users who upvoted your post.
So you lose more money than you get
ok, makes good business sense from your point of view. After all its a free market.
There are a few new contenders and they will soon notice the abuse happening to them in the form of botnets if they keep the crazy prices. And when you do nothing about abuse, Steemcleaners and whales step in. For us it is not about the profit, but about not enabling botnets to earn from our service with spam.
Our profits come from volume, so we will try to adapt our prices to supply and demand.
