Minnowbooster Announces Adjustment to Profitability Scale
Today Minnowboosters is announcing a change to our profitability formula in an effort to be able to push out more Boosts to our loyal customers.
As you know, Minnowbooster has been working on a 3x profitability model. Meaning that if you were to submit a post for a boost when Minnowbooster was at 100% voting power, you would get a return of 3x what you put in to boost the post.
In Reality, Minnowbooster is closer to our minimum VP of 57%, which returns 171%.
With so many people calling on Minnowbooster to visit their posts, in an effort to keep our Voting Power Effective, we have decided that we need to make a slight adjustment to the Voting Power per post, and will be decreasing our Profitability Metric from 3x to 2.5x at 100% power.
This change, combined with the minimum Voting Power of 57% will see a minimum return of 142.5% as opposed to the 171% you were seeing with the 3x model. If you assume maximum curation reduction of 25% your end result profitability drops from 128.25% to 106.875%.
In announcing this decision @reggaemuffin stated:
What this means is we can vote more and our raise limits. Users will soon start seeing Minnowbooster as a promotional tool to get into "hot" and "trending" to boost visibility; not as a money multiplier. This is a huge step in reducing spam and abuse on Steem!
With this change, along with the new "Sell your Vote" feature, allowing us to conserve Voting Power, our hope is to get Minnowbooster off of that 57% minimum Voting Power and start getting closer to the higher Voting Power profitability we would prefer to operate at. At the same time, being able to service more overall posts, while simultaneously positioning ourselves as a post promotion service.

This change is effective immediately, so you will already be seeing the new metrics in place. We appreciate everyone for your support as we fine tune our products in order to provide the best possible experience for our users.
Updated Terms of Service
Minnowbooster takes Boost Abuse very seriously. Abusers be warned, a new policy is being put in place and if you continue to upvote content that violates our TOS, we will be removing your upvote and declining a refund payout.
What constitutes abuse of @minnowbooster?
- Using multiple accounts to post duplicate content and purchasing MB upvotes for all of them.
- Same goes for using multiple accounts to post low quality content just to farm Minnowbooster for profits
- Upvoting posts with MB that are written in a copy / paste style.
- Using a MB vote for very short or repetitive content.
- Length is subjective, but 150 words is a good safe guideline, however original art, photography, video and animations will be exempt from the 150 word guideline.
- Think about the content you are upvoting and decide based on the criteria we have laid out.
What is @minnowbooster's new policy in dealing with abuse?
Users who violate our TOS regarding upvotes will face the following consequences:
1.) Your post will be unvoted by Minnowbooster
2.) You will not receive a refund for the original upvote.

What a great idea. Using @minnowbooster to encourage the posting of quality content and boosting it into the trending and hot pages for better visibility. It is great to see this service adapting and changing to better suit the needs of STEEM as a platform and users as well.

In my opinion minnowbooster is the best voting bot with maximim returns. Keep it up !!!!
Good job. Its encouraging to see your team innovating ans always trying to make things better. Clamping down on abuse and removing the incentive to spam helps us all. Now we just need the other big bots to clean up their act too :)

So it's becoming difficult to figure out how much one is allowed to bid. Hard enough when it changes constantly, but you guys have made it crystal clear to everyone they need to check, so no biggie.
But now, you've got different numbers at the URL than you do in you "latest" post. I usually use the URL to be quick and check. I did so a few minutes ago....it said 10 a day, 35 a week. Good to go, sent 10.
Got a message back telling me you couldn't do 10, making sure to also list how much it "would" have been worth, that you can't do. So I'm stuck going back to this thread, which is 4 days old, and things change quickly with you guys....4 days is almost a lifetime. LOL
So....where should we be looking for parameters? Is the url not the place anymore? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I stand by this decision 100%. Minnowbooster is and should be used as a tool for gaining exposure for content creators who are looking to have their hard work be seen by enough people.
Though costing more, it makes it perfect sense for content creators like myself, with higher limits, especially daily limits to give our own post a boost so as to have our content see the light of day.
I use minnowbooster on every single one of my posts for just that fact and wil continue to do so.
May I ask, however, what the new limits will be? I have just checked on minnowbooster.net, and aside from the monthly limit being raised to 100SBD the daily and weekly values have remained the same.
BuildTeam is doing tremendous work for the Steemit community and I really appreciate it. Minnowbooster literally created an implementation independent, rendering the use of Steemit's native 'Promoted' Page obsolete.
Which is an absolute travesty as there is so much potential for Steemit to properly monetize that and negate the inflation of Steem!
Maybe, just like minnowbooster however, I should do something about it rather than simply say it isn't working.

It is very bad for minnows you reduce the return very much and not forget that there are a curation return so the minnows now is in lost! The minnow paid his vote, paid a curation and 0 return. Excuse me @minnowbooster you think to cut the abuse but you will cut also the minnows :(
I want suggest you smart idea to distinct the abuse:
Make upvote level:
*For 1sbd and less=> give them 200%: they are minnows 100%
*For more than 1sbd=> give them 90% : they are not minnows.
The minnows havent money to invest :)

I think you are confusing this a bit. We factored in curation. You try to apply it twice. We don't want you stealing the curation from your voters and that won't change.

To answer your deleted comment. Minnowbooster will choose changes that benefit steem over changes that just benefit MB. A competitive mindset will not get you far. If you feel like that is nothing for you, there is a free market you can choose from. And you can vote for witness who you want, including jerry :)
I delete it because i was stressed. We arent english member so very very hard to get upvote. I want grow quickly to help my team to grow and write great article using our language. I use MB to grow up my power then i can help others with that and encourage my team :)
If you only use MB to earn more money, then please stop using it. IF you use it to get more friends and followers then you are taking away their curation rewards by voting in the first minute.
