More GTX1060 Mining Cards

I'm getting increasingly intrigued by the new Nvidia 1060 mining-dedicated cards. I've already came across options from MSI, Palit and now Asus. There's talk that these will not be retail available, only in large quantities directly from the manufacturers. Whether that's the case, I'm not so sure.

Apparently, these could offer hashrates of 25-30MHS on Ether, for a sub $200 price tag. I've even seen some sites say they'll be sub 100W (one site claimed 45W @97%, but I'd be apprehensive about that)

IF, hypothetically, these did go on sale and matched up to those figures, does that make them a viable competitor to the market dominating AMD cards??

Thoughts?
