Dude, this is fate....you would not believe but I went on this same journey last Summer. My miner collection now includes: 4 x Antminer S1's overclocked to 200 gh/s , an Antminer S2 at 1th/s, and two Antminer S5's running at 1.3 th/s - when Bitcoin was riding high before Christmas my earnings from them did well - at the moment it doesn't really cover the electricity cost - but I have the bonus they are keeping the house warm and it has been freezing in the UK so far this year! Not sure what I will do when it get's warmer unless the value of Bitcoin climbs dramatically again. Fun though - and as you mention I am keeping an eye on the LTC cash fork - it could be the opportunity to do better out of them. I did also spend a period when I got one of the pools I was mining with to pay out to a blocktrades address which gave me direct Steem from the Mining - which was very handy to help me grow a bit more on here.
