UNICEF wants video gamblers to mine virtual coins for children in Syria
UNICEF has launched a project urging video game buffs to "borrow" the power of processing their video cards to mop up Ethereum, the second most popular virtual currency in the world after Bitcoin. The aim is to help children in Syria, writes The Guardian.
The project is called "Game Chaingers" and is just in the testing phase and has gathered so far $ 900.
If you're wondering why gamers are being asked, it's simple: graphics cards are very performing and a good one for mining virtual coins than other chips. This is one of the reasons why Nvidia's profit almost doubled.
Do you think that Nvidia is behind bitcoin and the rise of crypto currencies? Just a thought!!
Oh not at all. But definitely one of the big winners please check this article @grizgal that i'm going to share here: https://steemit.com/mining/@alexandrumuraru/cryptocurrency-makes-nvidia-profits-doubled-due-to-demand-for-chips
