How to know what we are doing is right or wrong?

A fine charming day you woke up around 10:00, lying beside a couple of naked females/males or all alone, after a late-night out with friends or you worked vigorously on a world-changing computer technology till 03:00. Now, you’re hungry and thirsty. You went to the kitchen, looked every closet but nothing to save you. So, you took your purse and came out on the street to grab something to eat and drink. And after a 5 min walk, you end up on a café, right corner of the street.
You ordered a cheesy big sized double burger and a sweet iced latte. The guy over the counter took his time and then after a short while he came with your order and put it in front of you. Now, it’s time to pay for the food and drink. It does not take you long to pull out your purse from the back jean pocket and looked into it. You saw a lonely £10 note, sitting quietly and passionately waiting for its companions.
Now, something came into your mind, something as important as burger and latte. You’re so tensed and worried because your bank account is down to zero, and that something demands £10. It could be something stylish you ordered from Amazon to show off in front of your friends, or it could be an important part of your discovery in computer technology. If you pay for your hunger and thirst, then you’re not able to get that something. The confusion was on your head, and you took out the note. Your hand was slowly going towards the counter, and your mind all covered up with the question, “Am I doing right?”
Pause this scenario for a moment and come to something more deeper and a bit of psychological. (No better word than this.)

It’s very hard to tell or decide that what we’re doing is right or wrong, or maybe it’s impossible unless it’s not in the territory of human morals and government laws. If someone stabs you in the stomach with a sharp knife, then it’s easy to tell that that person did wrong, even you were the one who provoked him first. But when things go beyond the boundaries or any territory we can’t say anything for sure until we don’t have a computer, that can see future. All we can do is believe that things would go right and, not deliberately expect that things would definitely go right because when it doesn’t, it hurts very hard.

Like we were happy and excited about the time of our sister’s marriage, we were expecting good things to happen because the environment was just like that, but then our father died on the same day of her marriage, and everything changed, it hurt badly, and we were in so much pain that is hard to explain now.

So, when we do something, we always do one thing, we make or take a decision. Yes, it’s true, whatever the situation is we decide and upon that decision we take action, and that action follows a particular result. There’s nothing in this world which can define our deed-which is outside the boundaries of the moral law-as of right or wrong. All we can do is make the decision and then later face the resulting consequences either bad or good. And not just face them; accept them as well because when we took that particular decision, we were responsible for that, and now for the result, we are responsible for that too.
Things never go as we plan them to go-they either end up a terrible or very good-never exact the expectation. Maybe there are sometimes when we know what’s wrong or right, like when we do something, and we know doing that would hurt that person, then it’s wrong, and it lies under the boundary of the moral law. Or we invest in something, and we knew that this investment would cause loss of money, then in terms of business-it’s wrong. Other than these where things involve probability, and not the certainty, law and rules, we can’t tell anything for sure. Everything just goes with self-confidence and belief.
So again, it is possible to know what we are doing is right or wrong? Answer is No, definitely no but one thing we can do is change the way we see our experiences, that is how we look at the after story of our decision as bad or good consequences, or just a result of our decision we took with full responsibility, except you’re not drunk but being drunk was your decision, so it doesn’t matter.
Now back to our story, where you were about to pay the money for your hunger and thirst. Now, here you can make two decision, and it’s always same for everything, we can only make two decision for a particular situation. So, you have two choices for one decision, you can either pay the money or not, and we will discuss both.

(1) You pay the money: After silencing your stomach, you went back to your apartment. You were feeling content and so energised that you started working again on your world-changing computer technology, and you’ve made some changes to it and, now you don’t need that part anymore. Or you stumbled on your father’s old stuff, and you found something more chilling than your amazon order, so you cancelled it.

(2) You didn’t pay the money: With hunger in your belly, and sadness over your face, you started to walk back to your messy apartment, but on your way back to home you collided with your old friend. She/he insisted to you have breakfast with her/him. Both of you had a delicious breakfast, and your friend paid the bill, now she/he was so content to meet you after a while, so you took her/him back to your apartment and made love with her/him. And after that, you invented something unique with that part, and your life changed. You married him/her, and now you are living a great life.

Yes, above are a bit of off track, but the reason behind writing these is to make you understand, that there are limitless possibilities behind our one decision, therefore; we can’t tell anything for sure. All we can do is make a decision and be ready for the following result. Or hope and believe that everything would go right.
