Who Do We Take Advice From? A Bitter Truth About Humans…
Hello, dear friends!
It is one thing to undermine the importance of good advice that is coming from an experienced soul, and another to ignore it altogether.
I have previously talked about the importance of thought independence; the idea that you should follow a path of logical assessment, armed with an unyielding sense of courage and ambition.
In that sense, words of advice are appreciated, but are never given more value than what they deserve.
After all, no one can be certain about some truths and facts in our world or in our society.
A lot of successful people choose a different path from everybody else and utilize the courage I told you about to fly ever higher into unknown and dangerous horizons.
But perspective is also important, and you cannot have a substantial perspective of life without the help of other people.
The thing is, we already see and know too much.
Sometimes, a lot of logical thoughts slip away from our perspective and we lose touch of important aspects.
That is when advice can be really handy.
In our community, I have always encouraged people to give their opinions, have debates, and come to conclusions as to how they should approach certain aspects of their lives.
If you think about it, this is the whole point of this blog: Understanding and choosing a better path of living… one that will make you proud in the long run!
But there is a bitter truth about us humans.
I remember a time when a friend of mine was really broke and hopeless in life.
I recommended some methods and suggestions to help him take control of his life.
But he did not heed my words. Some time passed and he found himself in one of those motivational classes, where entrepreneurs come and give immersive speeches about success in life.
He was so passionate about everything he learned from that class that he didn’t realize I had given him most of what he was learning.
Humans tend to not pay attention to good advice so long as they are not immersed in it.
What is the incentive that gives us this immersion? Usually money.
You pay close attention to what your teacher, doctor, mentor, etc. tell you because you’ve given them money and even on a subconscious level, you cannot help but respect their words.
I am not sure about how you could counter this illusory tendency, but I do know that paying attention to what your close acquaintances are telling you is a good start…
… those who you don’t pay, but always give you honest and good advice!

All truths are half-truths... and with a multitude of counselors, there is safety. However, why settle for being human as opposed to being a god or goddess? The later immerse's one into the essence of the divine nature we are created to express. Well written post @chbartist. Thanks for sharing!
Seek the truth, it shall set you free, the truth does not need our opinion to proof itself, it simple and undisturbed, but our duty is to seek it, and when we find we should value it.
One of the values being created here in the community is the opportunity to gain additional perspective on thoughts and our overall journey here and through life.

I am observing with concern the inconsistency of the people who one day advised in a way and passed the time has changed the way of thinking and argues that everything is changing and so the thoughts too. So not everyone is prepared to give advice and you have to open your eyes very well before being guided by someone who does not have firm foundations of thought.

It is matter of time.. when a person starts reliasing things were right bt time gone till that moment...people are mesmerised by words of people who has a big status in society... Lol... That's a good point. When a person invests money into something they are way more likely to engage with it, take care of it, support it, listen to it...etc. it's kind of funny that often free advice can be just as useful if not more so though.
