How to reduce the risk of becoming a victim of information interventions?

Although technical analysis encourages us to focus only on the current price behavior, it is still worth supplementing it with fundamental analysis and studying the current economic situation in order to understand the market. But how not to be deceived when analyzing today, when agencies, media and bloggers are bombarded with conflicting news? For some, the sun is red, for others it is black, for others it is green with stripes. Fakes have become the norm in the news background. What to do?

  1. The main method of protection against informational interventions is the inclusion of the head (this is such a thing on the shoulders, which for some reason many do not use). Here is a simple example of how it works. In one of the viral videos, viewers see a girl talking to a soldier of a certain state, and the case, judging by the description, takes place in February in a temperate zone. Suppose the majority is not able to determine from the form which state this military person represents. But the girl is in a T-shirt. Question: does it really happen in February frosts? If you use your brains, many fakes are not so difficult to expose.

  2. Even more dangerous is not an open lie, but distortions and omissions. Try to perceive facts, not interpretations.

  3. Keep in mind that information interventions may come from sources that you feel are representative and that you fully trust. Do not be lazy to double-check the information using several sources, moreover, showing the situation from different angles.

  4. Remember that the news background becomes especially toxic in crisis situations. Therefore, vigilance must be increased.

  5. Do not blindly trust statistics, polls, ratings. They are also made by people, often by interested parties.

  6. As practice shows, phrases from the series “widely known” can turn off critical thinking. A widely known fact

  7. Keep in mind that the interpretation of the news is greatly influenced by your attitude to the situation. Personal likes and dislikes cloud perception.

  8. When the newsfeed tries to put something in your head, ask: "Who benefits from this?" Ask yourself this question more often, and the world will become much more transparent.
