Migraine is a type of headache that is caused by a disturbance in the nerves in the brain. This nervous system disease is characterized by attacks of intense, debilitating, and recurring headaches. Migraine headaches are often described as severe throbbing, which usually occurs on one side of the head, either the left or the right. In fact, some people describe the pain as being as extreme as hitting the head with a hard object.
