Jodhpur was built by Rajput King Rao Jodha.Over the years Rajput has been the center of splendor of kings.The evidence of which is found today in the form of ancient buildings in many places connected to the city of Jodhpur. There is a historic place 9 kilometers from Jodhpur which is called by the name of Mandor Gardens.

The ancient name of Mandor was 'Mandavpur'. Before Jodhpur, Mandor was the capital of Jodhpur Princely State. Rao Jodha assumed Mandore as insecure, built the Mehrangarh Fort on the Chidiya Koot mountain in the name of security and built Jodhpur under his name and made it the capital of Marwar. At present the ruins of the Mandor fort are left, which are built on the basis of Buddhist architectural style. In this fort large stones were added with the help of no spices.
Local people here also believe that Mandore was the in-laws of Ravana. Perhaps the name of this place is Mandore due to the name of Ravana's name being Mandodri. This thing is prevalent like a legend.
It is believed that even today on the day of Dussehra, the descendants of Ravana worship Ravana
Mandore Garden is a huge yatana. To provide beauty, artificial canals are decorated. In which the memorial of the 'Ajit Pol', 'The Year of the Gods' and the 'Dwelling of Veers', the temple, the Baavadi, the 'Janaana Mahal', 'Ek Thamba Mahal', the memorials of various Maharajas of Canal, Lake and Jodhpur. These large buildings made of red stone are unique specimens of architecture.
Artistic buildings built in Uthan were built between 1714 and 1749 AD during the rule of Maharaja Ajit Singh of Jodhpur and his son Maharaja Abhay Singh.

How to reach Jodhpur?
Jodhpur city has its own airport and railway stations which are well connected to major Indian cities. New Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport is the nearest international airbase. Tourists can also reach here by buses from Jaipur, Delhi, Jaisalmer, Bikaner, Agra, Ahmedabad, Ajmer, Udaipur and Agra.

When to go?
This area remains a hot and dry climate throughout the year. Summers, monsoons and winters are the main weather here. The best time to visit Jodhpur starts from the month of October and till February.
