Fabulous artist & definitely particular individual with extremely strong character.

#FridaKahlo was so much more than just an artist with bold brows and flowers in her hair. She was a fearless, talented, badass who refused to conform to societal norms. She turned her sadness into art, overcame physically crippling obstacles, and left behind a legacy of strength and creativity.

#Frida as a small girl wanted to be a doctor but a tragic accident at age 18 changed the course of her life forever:"There have been two great accidents in my life. One was the trolley, and the other was Diego. Diego was by far the worst".

Frida put it all out there in vibrant, often shocking self portraits heavy with symbolism ~ a style borrowed from the indigenous people of her native Mexico.

She lived by her own rules, smoking + drinking tequila "like a real mariachi," consorting with communists + lovers of both sexes. Her attitudes towards gender were progressive – her relationships with women and men, and her penchant for suits, mean she has been hailed as a modern queer icon.

Frida is an example of strength and determination, and a great inspiration to many. There's always a picture that comes to mind, where she is painting in bed, surrounded by the machines that held her body together. Even in the worst situations, we can go on, we can move forward and do we're passionate about.

"Pain, pleasure and death are no more than a process for existence. The revolutionary struggle in this process is a doorway open to intelligence."-Frida turned her pain into ground-breaking art that still speaks to us decades after her death.

Being in Mexico you can't miss

A fantastic experience for a day in cayoacan zone in Mexico. Around eight in the morning I took metro and walked more one km from the station to get to street Londers where the queue were there already
"Blue House" was built by her father where Frida's life begun and ended. Nowadays become museum which is very popular that queue starts even before opening. You can get tickets online which save sometime but it's not that easy to get them.

**There is an fantastic movie "Frida Kahlo" which will answer any question about her, I recomended highly. Is shows well her life like also Mexican culture.
