Great excursions in Puerto Vallarta!

Mexico has been our go-to place for vacationing for a few years now. This year, we decided to visit Puerto Vallarta after hearing much raves about it. Hubby likes to search (watching YouTubes, reading blogs/reviews/tips, Yelp, etc.) way ahead of our trips and it really helps in making our adventures very memorable.

One of the excursions that my hubby booked weeks before our trip to Mexico this year was "Food Tours". It was a 9-stop eating/drinking tour to family-owned eateries and taco stands (I experienced the best taco during this tour!) that lasted about 5 hours! We started in the morning walking through the streets of Puerto Vallarta and eating at the stops along the way. It was exhausting but rather so much fun! Afterall, exploring the city on foot is the best way to get a feel for the city!

The last stop we had was a refreshment and, surprise, surprise, it was TUBA (fermented coconut wine)! Our food/tour guide said that it was originally from the Philippines. Ha! They tweaked the drink 'though as I could only taste just a subtle hint of the fermented coconut on it. It was cold and somewhat a little sweet, unlike the typical tuba that we have in the Philippines...

During our 8-day stay in Puerto Vallarta (PV), we also did the extreme 10-line ziplining (said to be Mexico’s longest and fastest “Superman” zip line). Yikes, I did it and loved it (still in disbelief that I ended up having fun doing it!).

We also did a 3-hour (one-way) hike that follows the coastline from Boca de Tomatlan to Las Animas that enabled us to see beautiful and quiet, secret beaches and vistas along the way. We took water taxi on our way back to Boca de Tomatlan.

The best time I had though was the Rhythm of the Night which was a Sunset Cruise that brings us to this island with 1,500 lit candles and hundreds of torches spread all over the island, an amazing show with performers from Cirque du Soleil, and a candle-lit dinner by the ocean in the sand. We got back to out hotel at past 12mn and even then we couldn't stop gushing about it!

I really missed us lounging on the tube at the resort's lazy river everyday... Before we knew it, we had to fly back home. Time flew too fast but memories live forever! Thank you so much to my awesome hubby for this amazing family trip!
