My Own Summer (Shove It) by Deftones [Guitar Cover]
Yo. I decided to go back and do a fresh cover of this classic Deftones song (that everyone listened to so much that they got sick of it), now that I'm not being a crusty sloth and I'm actually recording video to go with my audio. This was originally a request I got from a user on here, so hopefully they enjoy getting to hear this twice. I think I'll probably go back and do this with a few other older things I recorded, though I'm planning on doing a couple of fresh covers as well over the coming months. This song in particular is just a fun vibe and a fun song to jam to. I'm still trying to play around with lighting/camera angles, but, I kind of like just having everything be purple like I'm about to be murder-plowed by aliens. That might change though in the future, but then again I am basically a dilapidated corpse in most of my free time these days. But, yeah. Hope you guys enjoy the cover. And, if not, then suck it. Suck it dry.
It was me that made this request all that time ago. You made that look extremely easy. It is just a simple drop D tuning?
It's actually in C# tuning, which is in between drop D and C tuning. Not a very common tuning anymore, especially with modern metal all being on 7 and 8 strings where you're in fucking drop XYZ and the noise coming out of the guitar just sounds like someone banging trash cans together.
