As someone battling the same dragon, for many, many years, I can offer you some advice... Never give up... No matter how desperate times may seem. You will always be victorious. :)
Thank you <3
Suicide is much too common these days. Statistics show that it is more common among marginalized groups than it is in the general population, for a number of reasons.
I lost a friend to suicide a year ago on Christmas eve.
I have had conversations with my shrink in the past about suicidal thoughts, but I've never gotten to the point where I thought it was the only solution.
I'm glad you could get help for it! And sorry for your loss. x
Truth is the most common reason for feeling suicidal is currently thought to be feeling trapped. Also it's important to keep in mind the trauma. A lot of incredibly tratic events that would've shaken the average well adjusted adult. Loss of friends, sexual assault, being stalked, constant bullying, not knowing where to turn, and her dad cheating.
Am glad they'd shown life events that could lead to this instead of simply slapping on a label. Esp when it's well established that often leads to a being given a pill known to increase risk of suicide, esp in teens.
Many people have complained Hannah is unlikeable. In fact even a licensed thearapist did back when only season one came out. Truth is she made some mistakes, and so did others, along with blatant cruelty that happened to her. There is no perfect victim. However, it dipicts how things can add up, and we could all do well try a little harder not to add to people's struggle, and even try to lighten it. In my experience anywhere from a family member who may've seemed stressed to someone an online group who you've had heated arguments both leave wondering if you could've done anything to listen the load or not add to it. I think I'm the end people at times maybe being too hard on themselves, to arguably misplaced anger worked out, and they learned from it. I don't see that as glorifying suicide at all. It's humanized it in way most don't.
Apologies having some trouble downloading part two. Hopefully will have available soon.
