Hi goldmatters. We have quite a few shops that have opened in the last couple of years that buy old gold. I bet they are offering to purchase below spot. If you had Mene you know what value you hold.If you had a 14 carat ring that would be different because its not pure.
Yes there are scrap gold buyers out there. I agree they are probably buying below spot
